The ATLAS eFX-Team Full Speed LMS team is born
Racing a Saleen S7R in GT1
A Swiss investment group has acquired the assets of motorsport teams Fullspeed (UK) and KplusK (CZ). Each team competed in the 2009 FIA GT1 championship with two Saleens S7R.
ATLAS GROUP is a partner which will ensure that the team will be able to achieve its targets in the long term. For now, ATLAS eFX-Team Full Speed, which is the official name, will race in one Saleen S7R in this year’s Le Mans series (LMS).
“Podium finishes are obligatory for we want to have a say in the championship. KplusK demonstrated this with its team in 2009. They achieved two victories and four podium finishes with the Saleen, which shows that we have a realistic target“, says Peter Levicek, the team’s spokesman.
The team is already planning to use two of the three available Saleens S7R for the 2011 LMS. They are also talking with manufacturers in order to compete in next year’s FIA GT1 World Championship.
Pilots Adam Lacko (CZ) and Carlo van Dam (NL) have been confirmed for the LMS. A third pilot will be announced shortly.
