WTCC Zolder - Race 1 & 2 : They said...
Quotes from the drivers
Rob HUFF – winner of Race 1: “I had a good start and managed to stay ahead and so I was disappointed when I saw the safety car on the track. But again I had a good restart and pushed hard for a few laps. Then I saw that Yvan (Muller) had passed Gabriele (Tarquini) and was chasing Alain (Menu), which give me the chance to pull away and ease the pace in the final laps when I began feeling a few vibrations on the front tyres. I’m very happy that I claimed another victory.”
Gabriele TARQUINI – winner of Race 2: “This has been a great and unexpected result. Zolder is a very technical track, maybe the one in the championship that suits better to our car, and this helped me today. It is difficult to overtake here and when I managed to stay ahead after the first lap I said myself that it was my opportunity to go for a victory. I knew that Rob (Huff) would have hesitated to take great risks not to jeopardize his championship hopes, but when he did it I was ready to take an even greater risk, because today for me it was a matter of victory or nothing!”
