Tiago Monteiro faces new challenge at Paul Ricard
"We will not give up"
Tiago Monteiro will undertake the second challenge of the 2014 FIA World Touring Car Championship, WTCC, this coming weekend the 19th and 20th April at the Paul Ricard circuit in France. Two consecutive weeks of racing means that teams and drivers will try to remedy the pitfalls discovered in the opening round in Morocco, just four days ago. However, for Tiago Monteiro the main focus remains on his overall goal for this season, securing as many points as possible for him and the team.
The problems faced in Morocco will have no immediate final solution at Paul Ricard, because they will require extensive work by the entire team, however there are adjustments that can still be made to try and minimize the gap to their main rivals. "We are aware that it will be another hard week-end where we will have to fight hard to achieve our goals, but we will not give up. I have faith that the small adjustments the team will make, together with the fact that we will be on a more conventional track, can help," Tiago started to explain.
"The ultimate goal for this weekend was to add more points and further develop the Honda Civic’s huge potential, but unfortunately we did not have time to work on all that was needed. In these circumstances it is important to finish races as it is the only way to amass points and to collect information while also not losing too much ground to our rivals," concluded Tiago Monteiro, who continues to have the utmost confidence in his team’s work.
