Positive first contact between Honda Civic and Tiago Monteiro
"It was a crucial test"
Tiago Monteiro has spent the last two days on the Vallelunga circuit in Italy where he was getting to know the Honda Civic 5P that he will race in the 2013 FIA World Touring Car Championship as well as the final three rounds of the 2012 WTCC season.
It was a very positive shakedown, not only in terms of the Portuguese driver getting to know his new car, but also from a personal perspective as Tiago had the chance to meet the Honda family that had made the trip to Vallelunga for this exciting first test day.
Although Gabriele Tarquini took the wheel for the first outing, Tiago Monteiro didn’t miss out on any of the work carried out by the team. "This is an important moment for me, but also for all of the Honda team. There were a lot of engineers from Mother company Honda, as well as technical structure from JAS Motorsport, "said Tiago Monteiro," I was impressed by the professionalism and commitment from everyone."
"It was a crucial test. We collected a lot of information that we will now analyze in depth before the next test days on the 27th and 28th of August in Slovakia," says Monteiro, "We have work to do, but we also have an excellent base," concluded Tiago, who will race the Honda Civic 5P in Suzuka, Japan this October.
