Hunt happy to be leading IRC 2WD Cup
"The most important thing is that we made it to the end"
Briton Harry Hunt said extending his lead of the IRC 2WD Cup ahead of the summer break more than made up the late mechanical woes that cost him the category victory on the Sibiu Rally last month.
Hunt was on course for his second consecutive win in the division only for suspension failure to drop him behind Renault pilot Robert Consani.
“It’s disappointing not to have won after I was leading for most the rally but it still feels good to have finished second,” said the London-based driver. “We lost a lot of time on the last stage but there was nothing we could do. The most important thing is that we made it to the end and extended our lead of the 2WD Cup.”
Hunt will resume his bid for IRC 2WD Cup title glory on Barum Czech Rally Zlín from 31 August-2 September.
