Polestar Racing is also ready to race the new 1.6-litre turbo engine on Robert Dahlgren’s
Volvo C30 car.
“We sent a request to the FIA Touring Car Committee for being granted the authorization to
use the engine from Brno,” unveiled team principal Christian Dahl who added: ”We have
done only four track days and reliability testing is far from completed. We are also no fully
satisfied with drivability yet. However, we have come so far that we will learn more from now
on if we start racing than just continue testing.”
Until the previous WTCC event in Budapest, Dahlgren’s car was still powered by a 2.0-litre
normally aspirated engine.
