After the official Le Mans Series tests, where the two TDS Racing and Race Performance ORECA 03 cars performed well, ORECA Racing Car Manufacturer has crossed the Atlantic for the 12 Hours of Sebring. In Florida, one ORECA 03 will be on track, entered by Signatech-Nissan, alongside the Formula Le Mans (prototype launched in 2009 in partnership with the ACO) cars fighting for victory in the LMPC class.

Runners up in the Le Mans Series team championship, Signatech-Nissan enters the season with drivers Franck Mailleux, Lucas Ordonez and Soheil Ayari. Under the colours of the French team, the ORECA 03 will complete its first laps on American soil and Saturday will see the car’s first competition, against OAK-Pescarolo and Lola. The race will be telling, as the Sebring circuit is notorious for being demanding on man and machine.

Meanwhile, the ORECA chassis will also be present in the Le Mans Prototype Class. Eight Formula Le Mans will be at the start, with the 12 Hours of Sebring also marking the start of the American Le Mans Series 2011 season. Just as last year, the ORECA-FLM 09 cars will be integrated with the ALMS field, after a 2010 filled with exciting battles.

A number of American teams have signed up for another year, including Genoa Racing (Petersen/Cameron/Guasch and Lux/Julian/Zugel), Intersport Racing (Marcelli/Drissi/Mitchell) and PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports (Dobson/Lewis/Richard). These teams will be joined by newcomers Performance Tech (Nicolosi/Boon/Lueders) and Core Autosport (Bennett/Montecalvo/Dalziel and Jeannette/Gonzalez/Junco). After competing in ALMS Lites, this last team can count on Gunnar Jeannette’s experience. A British team will also join the part, with Daniel Woodard’s Iconik Energy Drinks – WRO.

As a reminder, ORECA Racing Car Manufacturer is offering a 10% reduction on all spare parts for the Formula Le Mans cars running in American Le Mans Series. The client program has also been stepped up to offer even better team support.

After testing on Monday and Tuesday, the first official practice sessions will be held Thursday
before qualifying on Friday. Race start: 10:30 a.m. (local time).
