Muller: no shame at not winning WTCC Main Race
"When you start P8 for the race..."
Yvan Muller insists winning the WTCC Race of Hungary Main Race from seventh on the grid on Sunday was a tall order too far.
Muller moved into contention for victory thanks to a blistering start from row four. He challenged Citroën team-mate José María López but ultimately settled for second when contact with Rob Huff cost him vital time.
“When you start P8 for the race you cannot expect to be P2,” said the four-time WTCC champion. “I can be pleased of that because it was my first podium of the season and it was time. I could maybe win but I didn’t, but I am pleased with P2.”
Muller will resume his FIA World Touring Car Championship challenge in Morocco next week (6-8 May).
