Marrakech - Free 2: Muller chases the Seat cars

Gabriele Tarquini remained at the top of the timesheets after the second practice session of the day in Morocco. His time of 1:46.143 in the final minutes demoted rookie Norbert Michelisz to second.

Tarquini was quick from the off and continued to improve his time throughout the 30-minute session. Hungarian Michelisz then headed the field but ended 0.844-seconds adrift of the reigning champion with a time of 1:46.987.

Chevrolet’s Yvan Muller (1:47.507) was third followed by BMW Team RBM’s Andy Priaulx (1:47.533) and Tom Coronel (1:47.642) in his SEAT León TDI.

SR-Sports’ Jordi Gené (1:47.642) improved from the morning session to finish sixth ahead of Augusto Farfus (1:47.673) and Rob Huff (47.675).

Michel Nykjær (1:47.735) also made improvements in his SEAT León TDI to move up to ninth with Chevrolet’s Alain Menu (1:47.763) completing the top ten.

Wiechers-Sport’s Mehdi Bennani made up for a disappointing start to the day by ending the second practice session as fastest Independent, 12th overall, in front of his home crowd.
