Meeke takes seventh stage win

Kris Meeke has claimed his seventh stage win on Rally Islas Canarias.

The Peugeot UK driver was 1.4 seconds faster than fellow Briton Guy Wilks through the 13th Santa Brigida stage.

Jan Kopecký was third quickest and now leads Škoda Motorsport team-mate Juho Hänninen by 13 seconds in the overall standings with two stages remaining.

Meeke’s stage win puts him 22.3 seconds behind fourth-placed Bruno Magalhães with Alberto Hevia rounding out the top six in his privately-run Fabia. Hevia complained that changes to the car’s shock absorbers at midday service had caused too much understeer.
