Le Mans line-up unveiled
21 LMP1’s head the 55 car entry list
The organisers of the classic Le Mans 24 hour race this morning held a ceremony in which they unveiled which teams and primary drivers had been selected to take part in this year’s race.
21 LMP1 contenders have been selected with three entries each from arch-rivals Peugeot and Audi.
The entry process only lists the primary driver for each car and in the case of 2009 winner’s Peugeot - Alex Wurz, Nicolas Minassian and Sebastien Bourdais will start in 908 HDi FAP’s numbered 1 to 3.
Audi had already confirmed that their challenge will be spearheaded this year by Dindo Capello, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish.
Oreca are to run a customer Peugeot 908 while Kolles Racing will run the older R10 Audi design. Nigel Mansell is to take part in the race as the 1992 Formula One world champion shares a Ginetta Zytek with sons Greg and Leo.
