John Filippi enjoyed his best weekend so far in this year’s FIA World Touring Car Championship, despite being unable to convert his Opening Race DHL pole position into a maiden podium finish in Argentina on Sunday.
For the first time in 2016, Filippi finished in the top 10 in both the Opening Race and Main Race at the wheel of his Campos Racing Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1, having earlier claimed the reverse-grid Opening Race pole by claiming P10 in the second phase of qualifying.
As well as his strong and consistent overall performance, Frenchman Filippi cemented his fourth place in the WTCC Trophy, the category for independent racers.
