Bueno shone in home race
Third in race 1 and fifth in race 2
Brazilian Stock Car hero Carlos ‘Cacá’ Bueno shone in the WTCC races at Curitiba. At the wheel of the fourth Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T, Bueno was able to stay in the pace with the team’s regular drivers and claimed two excellent results: third in Race 1 (his first podium finish in WTCC) and fifth in Race 2.
“It was a very pleasant week-end and a great experience to be part of such a team. I am really pleased with my results. I wanted to make up from the disappointment of last year’s one off appearance at Brands Hatch, when my engine blew during the first race. But I have to admit that Sunday’s results were slightly above what I expected,” said Bueno, who had a very busy weekend taking also part in the Copa Caixa Stock Car.
“In Race 1, it was not too difficult to keep the third position behind Rob (Huff) and Yvan (Muller) and finishing on the podium in front of my home crowd. It was a very nice reward. In Race 2, I just did everything possible to escort and protect my team-mates. Now I just hope I can have the possibility to be again in the WTCC soon.”
