An evening at the karting with Ma

Relaxation and sightseeing have been the main activities during the days between the Beijing and Shanghai race meetings.

On Wednesday, though, adrenalin and competition came back, as Ma Qing Hua invited his fellow WTCC drivers to an event at the karting track owned by his family, in the Pudong area of Shanghai.

The event, labeled Ma Qing Hua 1st Annual Karting Cup, also gathered Chinese celebrities, media and local kart drivers. Different competitions were organized, according to the level of ability and experience of the contenders.

The party host, Ma, stood up his local hero status, winning one heat ahead of WTCC team-mates Sébastien Loeb and José María López, in another 1-2-3 for Citroën, while Mehdi Bennani emerged victorious in another, very closely-fought heat, beating LADA’s Mikhail Kozlovskiy under the flag.

International media warmly cheered their representative in the Media Finale, Stefan Ziegler (motorsport-total), who took a brilliant second place against Chinese colleagues with knowledge of the track.
