Why comfort comes second for Borković in

Star Serbian Dušan Borković got his first taste of Honda Civic WTCC power in Italy yesterday but admitted afterwards that he wasn’t sitting comfortably.

A racing giant at 207cm, Borković conceded that he has yet to find an optimal seating position during pre-season testing at the Circuito Tazio Nuvolari in Cervesina.

“I was very pleased with the car after yesterday’s shakedown,” said Borković, who scored his maiden FIA World Touring Car Championship podium in Japan last season driving a Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1. “I tested a little bit more today but most of the time we spent fitting me in the seat and it is still not perfect.

“Proteam and JAS are working hard on fixing this problem and unfortunately my seating position won’t be improved for the first two racing weekends for sure, but I am hoping that with FIA approval we will find a solution soon. My back hurts a lot for now, I am sitting too high and my left leg numbs when I am driving but I won’t let it affect my performance.”

Borković, 30, will appear on a full grid of TC1 racers when WTCC season 2015 gets underway in Argentina next month.
