Wait for more Polestar WTCC success begins
More podiums and more wins to come
Thed Björk’s FIA WTCC DHL Race of Qatar podium has come at the worst possible time for Polestar Cyan Racing. No seriously.
Second spot for Björk in the Main Race in the Middle East follows on from his, Volvo Cars’ and the Polestar team’s maiden WTCC victory at the penultimate event of the season in China and has left those involved in the project with a “taste for more”, according to Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin, Head of Motorsport at Polestar.
But with the 2017 season not due get underway until 9 April in Marrakech, a long wait is in store before the Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 will be back in race mode.
“This learning year has definitely left us with a taste for more and exceeded all of our expectations” said Murdzevski Schedvin. “To end the season with a Main Race podium is a morale booster that everyone in the team wanted. Thed did an amazing job, fighting hard to catch up with the leader and fight for the win.”
