WTCC’s ambassadors to visit the States
"We are very proud we have been able to arrange this action"
Gabriele Tarquini, Tiago Monteiro and James Nash have been appointed Ambassadors of the WTCC in an effort to promote the championship’s first visit to USA that will take place at Sonoma’s Infineon Raceway on 23 September.
Next week the three drivers will attend the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup event, taking part in a series of promotional activities such as press conferences, dinners and parades.
One SEAT racing car was also shipped to the track, to offer the local media representatives the possibility to enjoy rides on the track alongside Tarquini or Monteiro.
WTCC general manager Marcello Lotti commented: “We are very proud we have been able to arrange this action. The first event in the USA will be a milestone in WTCC history and we are doing our best to turn it into a success. The attendance of Gabriele, Tiago and James at the NASCAR event will prove a huge boost and we wish to thank the Infineon Raceway for their invaluable cooperation and support.”
