WTCC drivers have discovered the new shakedown
Just checking the gear, no lap times
Drivers and teams contesting FIA WTCC Race of Argentina took part in the all-new shakedown session earlier today.
Replacing the usual 30-minute test at the season-closing overseas races as part of ongoing cost-cutting efforts, shakedown provides an opportunity for teams to carry out essential system checks on their cars following the lengthy transit from Europe and ahead of Free Practice on Saturday.
Drivers followed Bruno Correia in the Volvo V60 Polestar safety car out of the pitlane in convoy. They completed one full lap of Circuit Termas de Río Hondo behind the safety car before returning to the pits for a 10-minute halt. They then completed one further full lap, again behind the safety car. No times has been published.
