WTCC cars are sailing for Japan

Hapag Lloyd’s vessel San Francisco Express weighed anchor Monday from Valencia’s harbour with twenty-three WTCC racing cars and the relevant spare parts on board. The cargo ship is due to dock in Singapore on September 27.

The operation – organized by DHL, WTCC official logistics partner, with support from Hapag Lloyd – kicked off on Sunday, September 4, in the paddock of Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo, immediately after the championship’s Spanish event. Cars and spare parts were loaded on twenty-three highcube containers and then trucked to the harbour. The total weight to be shipped was 115 tons.

After the arrival in Singapore, the containers will be shifted on board of another vessel, the NYK Venus that is due to leave on September 30 and dock on October 10 in Nagoya’s harbour, from where the containers will be trucked to Suzuka circuit that is about 70 km away and will host the WTCC 19th and 20th round on October 23.
