Gabriele TARQUINI – winner Race 2: “It was a great start and the key to my victory. My pace was faster than the guys in front and it all happened in the first corner. After that I was just managing my tyres. After the first race I knew my tyre choice was good so I stuck on used tyres instead of the new tyres I had left over from qualifying. My pace was very good on the first few laps and also on the last few. In these temperatures I was surprised our pace was so consistent as I thought it would drop off.”

Yvan MULLER – 2nd in Race 2: “The way to win a championship is to score points at every race so you can’t be unhappy with two second positions on a weekend. I am satisfied. Tarquini’s pace was good and mine was similar so even if I’d caught him it would have been tough to overtake.”

Rob HUFF – 3rd in Race 2: “I had a fantastic start and was up to about 10th through the first corner. I just stayed to the inside as a lot of cars ran wide an then Michelisz had problems at the front which kept the pack bunched up. Then one-by-one cars either had problems or I got past them. It was a very good result and one that was much needed after this morning’s race. It’s a great result for Yvan as well and for Chevrolet in the manufacturers’ standings.”

Darryl O’YOUNG – Independent’s winner in Race 2: “I have been in the lead before but finally I have a win. It’s a good weekend for my bamboo-engineering team as they always do a great job and finally I have given them a victory. I have also moved up in the championship so I’m right in the fight now. I am really pleased with this weekend.”

Fredy BARTH – Rookie Challenge winner in Race 2: “It’s right to say my start was not the key to my victory! I am happy with the result though as we didn’t have the pace in qualifying or the races really. Thankfully I have taken the points but I hope to do better in the next races. This was a new track for me but hopefully it will be a little bit easier until Valencia now as they are circuits I have raced at before.”
