WTCC Oschersleben - Race 1 & 2 : They said...

Alain MENU – Race 1 winner: “This win has been a long time coming. My season started well in Brazil but Marrakech was a disaster. Today luck went my way with Huff getting a black flag. It was a bit unfortunate for him as there is always a domino effect going into turn one here, but after I got the lead I just drove my Chevrolet to the end and it was perfect, although I had to drive very carefully in the last laps in order to save my tyres.”

Andy PRIAULX – Race 2 winner: “It was beyond my expectations; we really didn’t expect to win so many races so far during the season. The reverse grids have helped us a lot. The car had good pace but Chevrolet have been very strong. The championship is still alive. We know we are the challengers but we are fighting hard.”

Augusto FARFUS – second in Race 1 and Race 2: “I’m happy to be on the podium twice. It was a good result for me. It was a tough weekend. These results gives us good points in the championship and my aim is to finish the season in the top three.”

Yvan MULLER – third in Race 1 and Race 2: “Every point is important. So to be on the podium twice is a fantastic result. I am still in the lead of the championship and now we need to think about how we will keep that lead. All my competitors are a danger there are still a lot of points to gain. Mathematically about ten drivers are still in the fight so we have to stay focused.”

Michel NYKJÆR – Rookie winner in Race 1 and Race 2: “I had two very good races and I’m happy with these results. In the second race I was pushed sideways and this prevented me from fighting for the podium.”

Kristian POULSEN – Independent winner in Race 1 and Race 2: “It has been a good weekend. Qualifying was tough but the races were perfect. I had a good set up and my little team did a great job.”
