WTCC Curitiba - Qualifying : They said...

Rob HUFF – pole position: “This is really a fantastic start to the season. The team did a fantastic job and with Yvan (Muller) second and ‘Cacá’ (Bueno) third we are in a very comfortable position for the first race. My pole position time came from a very good lap for sure. Honestly we had not expected a specific lap time, we were just aiming for pole.”

Yvan MULLER – 2nd fastest: “I’m am not disappointed because I missed to secure a third consecutive pole position in Curitiba. I really enjoyed the second part of the qualifying while driving my car at the limit and I have to say that it was very well balanced. Now the question mark is how will the new car behave on the race distance? It could depend on the weather, because hot temperatures would not help us.”

Carlos ‘Cacá’ BUENO – 3rd fastest: “This is a special weekend for me, because I really want to impress my own fans. It is tough, because I’m racing in both WTCC and the Stock Car, which means jumping back and forth between two cars that are very different. And I have to say that third place in qualifying was an excellent start!”

Michel NYKJÆR – 4th fastest, best of Yokohama Trophy: “The SEAT TDi is a bit old, but it still working well. My goal today was to make the top-ten in Q1 and I have to say that this result, 4th in Q2 and pole position for Race 2 exceeded my expectations.”
