Valente: I’m overly excited!
"It is a privilege for me being the third French driver in WTCC"
Hugo Valente is facing his second season in the FIA World Touring Car Championship and with Campos Racing.
After making his maiden appearance at the Shanghai event in 2012, Valente came back this year from the fourth race meeting at Budapest and took part in all the remaining rounds except Russia and Japan, driving one of the Spanish team’s SEAT León. In 2014 he will be at the wheel of a Chevrolet Cruze, teaming up with Dušan Borković.
“I am really happy to have signed with Campos Racing again. It is an experienced team and I am overly excited with the idea of driving the new-specification Chevrolet. In 2013 I learnt a lot in the SEAT and now I face the challenge to get used to a faster car and be quick with a small amount of testing before the first race. It is a privilege for me being the third French driver in WTCC alongside the likes of Sébastien Loeb and Yvan Muller. It will be tough to beat them in their Citroën cars, but my aim is to keep on learning and improving, and make it to Q2 again. With the reverse grid, who knows what may happen…” said Valente
