Two Asian drivers for Engstler Motorsport
Filipe Clemente de Souza & Mak Ka Lok
The Liqui Moly Team Engstler has signed two Asian drivers, both from Macau, for the final part of the 2014 WTCC season.
Filipe Clemente de Souza (photo) will race in the German outfit’s second BMW 320 TC car alongside team principal Franz Engstler in all the four remaining events, at Beijing, Shanghai, Suzuka and Macau.
Mak Ka Lok will take the wheel of a third BMW only for his home event on the Guia circuit.
Both drivers are familiar faces in the WTCC paddock since they made their first appearance at Macau in 2011: Mak Ka Lok in a BMW 320si entered by RMP Racing Team and de Souza in a Chevrolet Lacetti run by the China Dragon Racing.
They both returned with the same cars and teams at Macau in 2012, although de Souza added a previous participation in Shanghai.
Last year both, Mak Ka Lok – still in an RPM Racing BMW 320si – and de Souza – who was upgraded by China Dragon to a Chevrolet Cruze LT – took part in all the three Asian events: Suzuka, Shanghai and Macau.
