Tiago Monteiro looking for a good result in Morocco
"We go to Morocco with the same package that we had in Argentina"
The second race weekend of the FIA World Touring Car Championship, WTCC, will take place in Morocco, from the 17th to 19th of April on the Mouly El Hassan street circuit in Marrakech. After his podium finish in Argentina, Tiago Monteiro is looking to put in a repeat performance on the African continent, even though the track configuration is not particularly favorable to his Honda Civic.
Recent development testing undertaken by the Portuguese driver and his team has helped to make significant changes to the Civic, but they will have no immediate impact on the competitiveness of the Civic in Morocco.
"We go to Morocco with the same package that we had in Argentina but we will be looking at significant developments in the following race," explained Tiago, "This means that on this fast track with very specific characteristics, it will not be easy to fight our main rivals. On the other hand, and given that the circuit is designed in the heart of the city, it is not uncommon for surprises to occur that could reshuffle the cards somewhat."
Tiago Monteiro and JAS Motorsport Honda’s early season goals remain unchanged: "Getting the best possible result and add a few points to our counter," summarized Tiago.
