Termas a thing of beauty, says WTCC racer Huff
"For me it’s one of the nicest layouts"
Rob Huff has described Circuito Termas de Río Hondo as a “beautiful track” ahead of the FIA World Touring Car Championship’s fourth visit to the venue next month.
WTCC Race of Argentina takes place from 5-7 August and Huff can’t wait to get started in his Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team Civic.
“It’s one of the best circuits we go to,” said Huff, World Touring Car champion in 2012 and the WTCC’s most experienced driver with 263 starts to his name. “As a driver it’s a beautiful track. It’s very flowing, it creates a lot of fantastic racing with good overtaking. It’s relatively high-speed in the sense of carrying corner speed.”
The Briton, who raced for LADA in Argentina last year (pictured), continued: “For me it’s one of the nicest layouts we have because we don’t have all this run-off area. It’s a new track but with a traditional old style and if you run out really wide you’ve got a problem. If you go off you’re in the gravel or the grass and that’s how it should be. The limits of the track are the limits of the track. It’s a track that works and fits the championship very nicely.”
Having taken place in early March last season, WTCC Race of Argentina is returning to an August date for 2016 having also run in August in 2013 and 2014.
