Teams Lada, Campos and Munnich test at Slovakia Ring
"An excellent opportunity to acquire mileage"
he severe showers that disrupted the race programme last Sunday at the Slovakia ring and led to the cancellation of Race 2 left fans, teams and drivers frustrated, but some of the competitors had the possibility to take the track again in the following days. LADA Sport Lukoil, Campos Racing and ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsports had planned to stay in Slovakia for testing and could carry the foreseen programme, mostly on a dry track.
LADA was present with Rob Huff, James Thompson and Mikhail Kozlovskiy, while René Münnich and Gianni Morbidelli drove the Münnich Motorsport’s Chevrolet cars, with Hugo Valente and Dušan Borković at the wheel of Campos Racing’ similar cars. Petr Fulín, with the SEAT León TC2T car of the Spanish squad completed the field.
Rob Huff said: “The Slovakia Ring is a very demanding circuit with a huge variety of different corners, perfect for some testing. We stayed for three days to work on the car setup needs and further develop our knowledge of the LADA Sport TC1. Having completed many laps in changing weather conditions, we feel we have made steps forward.”
“It was an excellent opportunity to acquire mileage and fine-tune a lot of details,” Gianni Morbidelli commented; him and team-mate René Münnich completed 800 kms apiece.
On his side, Dušan Borković expressed satisfaction “…for having been able to improve our times in sector 1 with respect to Qualifying, which proves we solved a number of issues we had during the race weekend in that particular portion of the track.”
