Škoda celebrated its first one-two-three finish in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge by moving 22 points clear of Peugeot in the race for the IRC manufacturers’ title.

Juho Hänninen, Guy Wilks and Jan Kopecký filled the podium places on Rally Argentina last weekend with Finn Hänninen taking a dominant victory, his and Škoda’s first of the 2010 season.

Michal Hrabánek, the boss of Škoda Motorsport, said: “The excellent result is a product of the thorough preparation. Victory in an IRC race is always very prestigious and the fact that Škoda Fabia Super 2000 cars occupied all the places on the podium is the maximum we can achieve.”

Škoda’s next appearance in the IRC will be on Rally Islas Canarias from 29 April-1 May.
