Six TC2T cars in the finale at Macau
A season record of 23 cars
The WTCC field will increase to a season record of 23 cars for the Macau Guia Race.
The return of Ma Qing Hua in the fourth Citroën C-Elysée car will be completed by a special effort made by the two teams competing in the TC2T class: Campos Racing and Liqui Moly Team Engstler. Both the Spanish and the German outfits will field three cars for the final event of the season.
Campos Racing will run three SEAT León cars for their regular driver John Filippi, for Pepe Oriola who makes a one-off comeback to WTCC and for Hong Kong racer William Lok who had already joined the Spanish squad for the Shanghai event.
As for the three BMW 320 TC cars entered by Liqui Moly Team Engstler, two will be driven by Franz Engstler and Macau’s Filipe C. de Souza, freshly crowned champions of the Yokohama and the Asia trophies respectively, while the third will be in the hands of another Macanese, Mak Ka Lok who has already made several appearances in the WTCC Asian events in previous years.
