Shanghai, FP2: Ma fastest as Demoustier impresses
Tom Chilton was third fastest
Ma Qing Hua has continued to set the pace at the Shanghai International Circuit, venue for rounds 19 and 20 of the FIA World Touring Car Championship this weekend, by going quickest in Free Practice 2 for ROSNEFT WTCC Race of China.
The Citroën-driving local hero topped the 30-minute session in a time of 1m51.217s with Grégoire Demoustier (pictured) impressing by going second fastest, 0.604s slower than Ma in his Chevrolet.
Tom Chilton was third fastest, one place behind his Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy rival, with ROAL Motorsport team-mate Tom Coronel next up in another Chevrolet.
World champion José María López was fifth quickest followed by Hugo Valente, LADA driver Rob Huff, Citroën’s Sébastien Loeb and Chevrolet privateer John Filippi with Mehdi Bennani completing the top 10.
Qualifying begins at 14h30 local time.
