SS5: Fifth stage victory for Loix in Ypres

Freddy Loix continues to lead the GEKO Ypres Rally in his ŠKODA Motorsport Fabia Super 2000 following his fifth stage victory.
The 40-year-old Belgian ace headed Peugeot UK driver Guy Wilks by 5.6s through the fifth stage of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge event. As a result his overall margin is 28.9s over the Briton with one stage of Friday’s opening day remaining.
Bryan Bouffier was third quickest in his Peugeot France 207 and is now just 4.0s behind Pieter Tsjoen in the battle for third position.
Luca Rossetti reported the engine power problem that slowed his Abarth Grande Punto on stage four has been cured. He was fifth fastest to move back into the top 10. Hans Weijs continues to impress in fifth overall.
Darkness is now falling over the Ypres Rally route.
