SS12: Mikkelsen flies on Wasquehal test

Andreas Mikkelsen has set his first fastest stage time of the GEKO Ypres Rally. The ŠKODA UK Motorsport driver, out of contention for an overall result following his exit on day one, was 2.5s quicker than event leader Freddy Loix on the 1.88-kilometre Show Wasquehal spectator run, the 12th stage of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge qualifier.
Luca Rossetti was third quickest in his Abarth Grande Punto Super 2000 with the recovering Guy Wilks fifth in his Peugeot UK 207 behind Bryan Bouffier’s Peugeot France entry.
Hans Weijs and Bernd Casier remain locked in battle for third place, with Dutchman Weijs seven-tenths of a second ahead of his Belgian rival.
