SS10 : Trouble for Loeb on super special
Ogier increases his lead
The battle for victory on Neste Oil Rally Finland has taken another dramatic twist after Sebastien Loeb completed the Jokimaa superspecial in Lahti with a broken windscreen.
Citroen ace Loeb reported the damage was caused by stones thrown up by team-mate Sebastien Ogier on the two-by-two course held at the town’s trotting track. It’s not yet clear whether the damage will hinder Loeb through today’s final stage.
“My windscreen was broken on the first corner from the gravel of Ogier by being on the outside line,” said Loeb. “I have lost everything in this stage.”
Ogier is now 1.9s ahead of Loeb in the overall standings with one stage of day two left to run.
“It was okay,” said stage winner Ogier. “We had a good drive with no problem. I try to continue to drive well.”
Friday’s final stage, Mynnila, goes live at 19:46hrs local time.
