Promising tests for new WTCC Volvo

Polestar Cyan Racing’s preparations for the 2016 FIA World Touring Car Championship have stepped up a gear with the completion of several successful tests recently.

Development drivers Thed Björk, Robert Dahlgren and Fredrik Ekblom all put kilometres on the squad’s Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 ahead of next year’s campaign when the legendary Swedish marque will return to the WTCC as part of a multi-year commitment.

”We have been able to complete our test schedule according to plan and without any major problems so far, providing us with a lot of answers to the questions we have,” said Fredrik Wahlén, Team Manager, Polestar Cyan Racing. “The development phase is still in the early stages where we are currently creating a foundation for our WTCC assault. We have the majority of development work still ahead of us, but it is of course rewarding to start our test programme in a positive manner.”

Björk, the reigning Swedish Touring Car champion, added: “We have taken steps forward with the car from our initial tests. This is of course very early days yet, but what I have experienced so far is really promising.”
