Portimao - FP2: The Chevrolet trio reacts
The Lukoil Racing SEAT León cars were among the fastest once again
In the second free practice the Chevrolet trio of Yvan Muller, Alain Menu and Rob Huff reacted to Gabriele Tarquini’s exploit in the previous session and set the three fastest laps.
For most of the thirty minutes, Menu was topping the time sheet with a lap of 1:55.910; however, just before the chequered flag was waved, Muller improved to 1:55.570. At the same time Huff completed a lap of 1:56.067 and moved up to third behind his team-mates.
The Lukoil Racing SEAT León cars were among the fastest once again, with Aleksei Dudukalo (1:56.135) and Tarquini (1:56.239) placing themselves in fourth and fifth positions respectively.
Franz Engstler posted the sixth fastest lap of 1:56.301, emerging as the best of the BMW drivers, and second in the Yokohama Trophy behind Dudukalo.
Norbert Michelisz, Tiago Monteiro, Pasquale Di Sabatino and Stefano D’Aste rounded out the top ten.
