Philip Ma joins Proteam for Chinese events
At the wheel of Fabiani’s BWM 320si
Hong Kong driver Philip Ma Ching Yeung will make a come back to the FIA WTCC for the two events in China: at Shanghai Tianma Circuit on November 6 and Macau on November 20.
Ma will be at the wheel of Proteam Racing’s BMW 320si car that was driven by Fabio Fabiani until the latest race meeting in Japan, which means that he will be also eligible for the Jay-Ten Trophy reserved for cars complying with the 2010 WTCC technical regulations.
The 48-year old Ma is one of Hong Kong’s most experienced and successful racing drivers, having scored a number of victories in GT and Touring Car competitions, including two Macau Super Car races and the 2009 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Class B title.
Ma made his first WTCC appearance last year at Macau at the wheel of a Honda Accord.
