Ostberg happy to be fourth
Norwegian satisfied with performance so far in Argentina
Mads Ostberg says fourth place on Philips Rally Argentina would represent another strong result in his season’s FIA World Rally Championship powered by Nokia.
Ostberg arrived in South America on the back of his maiden victory in the WRC and third in the drivers’ standings.
He starts Sunday’s closing stages with an advantage of more than six minutes over fifth-placed Martin Prokop.
“We are just taking it steady now as Dani [Sordo] is too far ahead - we have nothing to gain and a lot to lose,” said the Adapta World Rally Team driver. “Fourth place will be another great result for us and we need to make sure we make no silly mistakes on the final day.”
Ostberg, who is competing in Argentina for a second time in a Ford Fiesta RS WRC, added: “The gap to fifth is pretty big now so there isn’t too much pressure and I’ve had time to really enjoy the stages and show off to the spectators a little.”
