Oschersleben is next on Tiago Monteiro’s agenda

The FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) is making a stop at Germany’s Oschersleben circuit, before its traditional summer break in which the competition takes the entire month of August off. Tiago Monteiro hopes to take advantage of his SEAT Leon’s 1.6 liter turbo engine to get two good results in the season’s 15th and 16th races.

The Oschersleben weekend will also be a chance for the Portuguese driver to finally move past Donington, where he fell victim to a competitor’s carelessness. Although the Chevrolets are still tough to beat, other constructors, like BMW are rivals of considerable merit. "We all want great success and the qualifying session will have an overwhelming role in the race results," Tiago explained. "I can’t wait to take part in the first free practice session in order to be able to evaluate our competitiveness, and that of our rivals as well."

At Oschersleben, Tiago’s objective will be to make up for lost time in the general classification since his double disappointment in Donington, where he lost his 4th place standing.
