Norbert Nagy to race with Campos
At Spa-Francorchamps
Hungarian youngster Norbert Nagy will make his first appearance in the FIA World Touring Car Championship this week at Spa-Francorchamps.
The 19-year old from Budapest will be at the wheel of a Campos Racing SEAT León car in the TC2T class.
A former winner of national titles in the Touring Car Championship (2010 in the 1.6L class) and the SEAT Cup (2012), Nagy competed last year in the FIA European Touring Car Cup, ranking 7th in the Single-Make Trophy.
He had started the current season in the ETCC again, racing in the S2000 TC2 class at the wheel of a Chevrolet Cruze and finishing third in Le Castellet’s Race 2.
“Gearbox problems forced me to miss the ETCC event as the Salzburgring, but I was there and when we heard that Campos Racing needed to solve some technical issues, my team offered them help. As a sign of gratitude, Campos Racing offered me to take part in the next WTCC event. This is a great opportunity for me! I am looking forward to the races and I hope I can get a lot of experience for the future, as my goal is to join WTCC for a full season,” Nagy said.
