New LADA on track for WTCC debut
Three LADA Vesta cars will undergo a series of tests
LADA Sport’s new Vesta challenger is on course to make its FIA World Touring Car Championship debut when the 2015 season kicks off in Argentina next March.
LADA Sport WTCC Team Principal Victor Shapovalov used a recent visit by factory drivers Rob Huff, Mikhail Kozlovskiy and James Thompson to the firm’s Togliatti base to update media on the squad’s programme for next year.
“The team of engineers and mechanics are already working on a new car,” said a LADA Sport statement. “Three LADA Vesta cars will undergo a series of tests at the end of January, and a month later will be transported to Argentina’s Termas de Río Hondo circuit, which will host the first WTCC round from 6-8 March. Bo Andersson, the LADA President, added that more wins are expected with a new model.”
