Münnich: It was just sensational!
Victory celebration for Münnich Motorsport
Rob Huff’s victory in the second race at Budapest marked the first success of the Münnich Motorsport in the FIA World Touring Car Championship, which added further credit to the German team that last year had claimed the FIA GT1 World title.
Since the first races of the season, the Germany-based outfit had shown their potential, with 2012 GT1 champion Marc Basseng capable to come close to podium results in Monza and Marrakech.
Yesterday’s victory claimed by Huff in one of the team’s three SEAT cars proved that the Münnich
Motorsport’s apprenticeship in WTCC has been soon completed.
“It was just sensational! Podiums have been our goal and we are happy that we achieved that for the first time now and showed our potential. It was a very important success for us,” team principal René Münnich commented.
“These are the moments our whole team are working for, before, between and during the races. They are the best reward for all our efforts,” said Basseng who halves himself between driver and team manager duties.
