Muller tops Thursday test at Monza
Coronel completed the greatest number of laps
A dozen of drivers took part in today’s test day at Monza that was split in seven sessions of sixty minutes each.
In a hot and sunny day, Yvan Muller drove his Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T to the fastest lap of 1:59.593 during the fifth session. The reigning world champion was the only driver to break the 2-minute wall.
Kristian Poulsen and Tom Coronel emerged as the second and third fastest drivers in the BMW 320 TC cars. The Dane set his best lap of 2:00.593 in the 6th session, while the Dutchman posted a 2:00.763 in the seventh and last one.
Muller’s team-mates Alain Menu and Rob Huff were fourth and fifth fastest respectively, ahead of Proteam’s Javier Villa and Polestar’s Robert Dahlgren.
Coronel completed the greatest number of laps: 56, the equivalent of 325 km. Bennani and Villa completed 48 laps each.
