Author of three podium finishes in the last four races of the 2014 FIA World Touring Car Championship, WTCC, Tiago Monteiro is now aiming to continue this momentum and add two more successful results in Slovakia this coming weekend. In order to have the best possible chance to achieve this objective and provide Tiago and his teammate Gabriele Tarquini with a more competitive car, Honda tested at the Hungaroring circuit earlier this week where they continued development work of the Civic.

The test focused on the evaluation of new parts as well as the development of the chassis and the positive results make Tiago optimistic. "All the little changes we made to the Honda Civic have greatly contributed to improve its performance and this test has seen us take yet another step forward," said Tiago Monteiro. "Unfortunately, we ran out of time do everything we want, but I’m sure the development will be crucial for the rest of the championship."

In Slovakia, Tiago will continue to focus on the evolution of the Honda Civic, but he will not lose sight of securing the raw results. "Fight for the podium! I think even if we are more competitive, we will still be a fair way behind Citroen and Chevrolet. So we will fight with the equipment we have at our disposal and develop the best possible strategy. We took measure of things, and we know what we have to do to achieve our goals. We will finish the races and score points. It is important to understand the car and adjust it well in race trim, this is vital and the team is both confident and motivated."
