Latvala relaxed ahead of debut season with Volkswagen
Pressure? What pressure?
Jari-Matti Latvala insists he’s not under any pressure to deliver results from the outset when he switches to Volkswagen Motorsport for next year’s FIA World Rally Championship tussle.
Latvala joins Volkswagen as team-mate to Sebastien Ogier on the back of a five-year stint with the factory Ford team where he excelled with a host of rapid performances mixed with several accidents.
He told WRC.com: “There is no pressure. It’s a new car and you have to give some time at the beginning of the year. I guess the team is expecting more results later but not at the beginning.
“It will be very exciting and very busy. There are new things to learn and also things what you can bring to the team and what you have to learn from the team because there are always different ways of working.”
