LADA Sport team spent one full day testing, last Friday at Magny-Cours, in preparation of their second outing in the WTCC this week at Portimão.

“During our first race weekend in Hungary we collected a lot of information about the car and the improvements it needs,” team manager Max Maximenko explained. “After when came back to our workshop in Magny-Cours we have worked on new suspension parts, fit a new and more powerful steering pump and made a full engine inspection.”

James Thompson completed Friday’s test without any technical problems, trying different set-ups and making race simulations.

“I found the car much better then in Hungary, it was more balanced and more reliable,” the English driver said.

Maximenko commented: “The team did a great job to improve the car through a number of small and big changes. We are very happy with the test results; the car looks very fast and reliable and now it’s much more drivable for James. It’s difficult to say how fast we can be compared to other competitors, but we hope for some good results.”
