Kopecký starts with stage win

Jan Kopecký has got day two of Rally Islas Canarias off to the perfect start with the fastest time through the opening Santa Brigida stage.

The Škoda Motorsport driver completed the 7.8-kilometre run in a time of 4m41.9s, a mere one-tenth of a second faster than Guy Wilks, in a similar Fabia Super 2000.

Juho Hänninen, who leads the Intercontinental Rally Challenge drivers’ table, was four-tenths of a second slower than Kopecký and falls 14.8s behind the Czech driver in the overall standings.
