IRC milestone for ŠKODA in Romania
"I am happy for ŠKODA because this is their 25th win in the IRC"
ŠKODA underlined its position as the most successful manufacturer in the history of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge when Andreas Mikkelsen scored the Czech make’s 25th victory on the Sibiu Rally in Romania from 19-21 July.
Mikkelsen and co-driver Ola Fløene took their ŠKODA UK-backed Fabia Super 2000 to a commanding triumph on the gravel event, their second success of the season.
“I am happy for ŠKODA because this is their 25th win in the IRC,” said Mikkelsen, who leads the IRC drivers’ standings by 49 points.
Co-driver Fløene added: “The ŠKODA is reliable and Andreas knows how fast he can be with the car. We did the rally more or less with no problems, we had a very good preparation and it’s basically the team and knowledge ŠKODA has that makes this possible.”
