The Honda Racing Team JAS completed their European testing programme at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão.

For three days, from Wednesday to Friday, Gabriele Tarquini and Tiago Monteiro took turns at the wheel of the Civic WTCC car, equally sharing testing duties and driving one-and-a-half day apiece.

Team principal Alessandro Mariani commented: “By now Gabriele has got to know the car very well and is already focusing on fine tuning the set up. While Tiago is still in the stage of discovering the potential of the Civic. We have begun to adjust the car following his requests, but it is interesting to see how him and Gabriele are on the same wavelength while working together. It was another positive test because we covered more than 300 kilometres per day without the lesser technical issue.”

In the next days the Civic WTCC car will be shipped to Japan in view of its maiden appearance in the World Championship, with Monteiro at Suzuka on October 22.
