Honda goes all 360 in the WTCC
"The results are positive in all areas"
Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team Principal Alessandro Mariani says the squad’s preparations for the 2015 season are bang on track following a successful test in Spain recently.
Former WTCC champion Gabriele Tarquini drove for three days at Valencia earlier last week before handing the Honda Civic WTCC test car to Hungarian privateer Norbert Michelisz.
“We are satisfied with the test this week,” said Mariani. “Gabriele drove for the three initial days and then testing was continued by Norbert. We made good progress and were able to validate some of the ideas and developments we made over the winter in areas like suspension, brakes and engine mapping. I can say we have worked 360 degrees on the car development and the results are positive in all areas. The feeling was good from both drivers and I’m happy that our programme is going according to plan for the 2015 season.”
Honda’s Valencia test was in preparation for the upcoming FIA World Touring Car Championship season, which gets underway in Argentina from 6-8 March.
