Green light for Volvo’s new engine
"I am absolutely thrilled"

The FIA Touring Car Committee have accepted the request of Polestar Racing to use the new 1.6-litre turbo engine in Robert Dahlgren’s Volvo C30 from this weekend’s event in Brno.
The Volvo C30 Drive car was homologated by Sweden’s National Sporting Authority (SBF) and declared eligible for competing in WTCC by the FIA Touring Car Committee as a ‘national car’ (article 10C of the WTCC Sporting Regulations).
Dahlgren will be given 40 kg of compensation weight as per articles 79 B2 and B5 of the WTCC Sporting Regulations.
“I am absolutely thrilled. The engine is still in its early development, but the potential seems very good. We don’t know yet about its reliability and now my car is 60 kilos heavier than in Hungary, which will make a big difference. But this track should suit the car’s chassis and my driving style, so I am confident,” Dahlgren commented.
